Darío Esteban Osorio is a Chilean right winger who joined FC Midtjylland from Universidad de Chile in 2023 and has since become one of the most valuable Chilean players of his generation, with a market value of around €15 million and a contract running to 2030. He is already an established senior international with around twenty caps and regular involvement in World Cup qualifying.
Operating mainly from the right flank, Osorio is a left-footed inverted winger who looks to cut inside onto his stronger foot and either shoot or feed runners. He carries the ball at pace, is comfortable in one-versus-one situations and combines directness with an increasing appreciation of when to release the pass. In the 2025-26 Superliga campaign he has contributed a healthy blend of goals and assists.
His main strengths are acceleration, ball-carrying in transition and his shooting threat from the half-space. At 1.84 m he has a useful frame for a winger, allowing him to hold off challenges while driving forward, and his end product has become more consistent as he matures within a well-organised Midtjylland side that plays European football.
Areas for development include decision-making in the final third under pressure and defensive contribution when his team is without the ball. Like many attacking wide players he can occasionally force the individual action rather than take the simpler option, and adding tactical discipline would make him a more complete fit for a higher-level league.
In terms of potential, Osorio profiles as a ready-made candidate for a step up to a stronger European league, having already proven himself domestically and internationally.
