Ibrahim Mbaye is one of the clearest wide talents I have tracked in the Paris Saint-Germain age-group and first-team fringe over the last two seasons. He is a right winger who plays high and wide, and everything he does starts from raw, repeatable pace. When he receives with a defender square to him, the outcome is rarely in doubt; the first touch is set up to accelerate and the second is already past the man. In the minutes I have watched him at senior level, that directness does not dilute against better opposition, which is the single most important thing I look for at his age.
The one-versus-one quality is elite for an eighteen-year-old. He beats his marker on the outside as comfortably as on the inside, and he does not slow down to think about it. Where I still want more is the final action. The end product — the cross, the cut-back, the shot — is not yet at the level of the beating of the man. He can arrive in a dangerous position and then choose the harder option. That is a coaching and repetition issue, not a talent ceiling issue, and it is exactly what more senior minutes would sharpen.
The biographical context matters here. Born in Trappes, on the outskirts of Paris, he switched his international allegiance to Senegal in late 2025 and became the youngest African scorer at the 2026 World Cup, coming off the bench against France. That is a serious data point on temperament and level; scoring at a World Cup off the bench, against the country of your birth, is not a small thing to observe. It tells me the mentality holds up under the largest possible stage.
The situation is now about minutes. His contract runs to June 2028, but he is understood to be agitating for a summer move to play regularly, which is a rational position for a player of his trajectory sitting behind PSG's front line. Aston Villa and Tottenham are credited with concrete interest, and PSG's asking price is reported at around forty to fifty million euros. That is a premium, but it is a premium on a genuine top-end wide profile with proven big-game output. My recommendation is unambiguous: this is a priority target if the finances can be built.
Scout tavsiyesi: Priority target if the fee can be financed. Elite one-v-one winger with proven big-game output; the move is about securing senior minutes now.
