South African clubs rarely build a season around a player who came up through the reserve side, which is why Seluleko Mahlambi's debut top-flight campaign at TS Galaxy deserves a proper file. Born on 27 August 2004, he came through Galaxy's DStv Diski Challenge team after an earlier spell as a youngster at Cape Town City, and he was identified for the first team by Bernard Parker while Parker was still coaching the reserves.
The numbers from 2025-26 depend on who is counting. FotMob lists five league goals and three assists in roughly 1,100 minutes with an average rating of 7.14, while local reports quote seven goals and five assists across competitions. Both describe a left winger who produced regularly in his first top-flight season and earned a 2026 PSL Young Player of the Season nomination.
He is right-footed and plays mainly on the left, cutting inside onto his stronger foot, with left midfield, left-back and the right wing listed as secondary positions. Parker has described him as a modern winger who is awkward to deal with because he attacks the space behind the defence and also receives between the lines.
This season has been quieter. Six appearances and 471 minutes in 2026-27 have brought no goal or assist so far, with an average rating of 6.68. His market value sits at about 265,000 euros, below a peak of 336,000 reached on 1 August 2026. I read that as a second-season dip, not a collapse.
TS Galaxy's chairman, Tim Sukazi, said in July that no club had approached Galaxy about Mahlambi, and Parker said he would like to keep him another year. Mahlambi himself has said he wants a move to Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, and would welcome an offer from abroad. My three markers are his goal contributions before the December break, his output when Galaxy are chasing a game, and whether he keeps the left wing against stronger full-backs.
Scout tavsiyesi: Keep on the watch list. The first-season output was real, and the quieter start to 2026-27 is a normal response period rather than a warning. If he produces goal contributions before the December break and keeps the left wing against stronger full-backs, he becomes a credible domestic move to a bigger club in 2027.
