Indonesian football spends most of its transfer-window conversation on naturalised players. That is a legitimate debate, but it hides the quieter question this file is about: what happens to the locally raised players who came through the same system and are now entering their prime years?
Zanadin Fariz is 22, born on 31 May 2004 in Bekasi, and he has just changed clubs for the first time as a senior professional. He left Persis Solo, where he had been since joining the youth setup in 2021, for Persik Kediri ahead of the 2026-27 Super League season. Before Solo his path ran through Tangsel Muda and Badak Lampung.
He stands 1.65 m and is listed as a midfielder, although his clubs have also used him on the right side and further forward. The output is modest and worth stating plainly: 68 appearances and 4 goals in all competitions for Persis Solo, with 29 matches, 1 goal and 2 assists in his final season there. In March 2026 he was named Super League Young Player of the Month.
The international column is the stronger one. He has 13 caps and a goal for Indonesia at under-20 level, 5 caps and a goal at under-23, and 2 senior caps. His senior debut came against Myanmar in a 1-0 win at the 2024 ASEAN Championship.
The caution in this file is medical. A serious knee injury cost him several months and interrupted a run of selections that had been continuous since his teens. For a 1.65 m midfielder whose game depends on acceleration in tight areas, the question is not whether he comes back, but whether the first two yards come back with him.
This is a monitoring file, not a recruitment case. The next checkpoint is his minute count at Persik Kediri across the first half of the 2026-27 season, and whether he is used in the middle or pushed wide again.
Scout tavsiyesi: An observation file for clubs tracking the Southeast Asian market; the decision point is his minute count and defined role at Persik Kediri in the first half of 2026-27.
