U21 Radar — Sept 14-20: 6 Foreign Prospects for Turkish Clubs
This week’s U21 Radar from GegenSports looks at six foreign players aged 21 or under who fit the budget reality of Turkish football. The criteria haven’t changed: 21 or younger, a traceable contract situation, and a fee/wage level that a mid-to-lower Süper Lig side or a TFF 1. Lig club could realistically meet. Ten days have now passed since the summer window closed on September 4, so this week’s list leans further toward the winter window — these six names are less a “shopping list” than a watch file Turkish scouting departments should already have open before January.
Geographically, this is a more scattered map than recent weeks: Kosovo, Estonia, France (of Malian descent), Albania, the Georgia-to-Czechia pipeline, and a Finland-to-Denmark move each get a name on the list.
The six names on the September 14-20 U21 Radar
(representative chart, GegenSports)
1) Altin Gjokaj — Goalkeeper, 20, FC Prishtina
- Born: November 11, 2005 (age 20)
- Position: Goalkeeper
- Height: 1.85 m
- Club: FC Prishtina (Kosovo AlbiMall Superliga)
- Contract: until January 2027
- Market value: secondary sources: roughly €200,000
Gjokaj is Prishtina’s number one and has recently been called into Kosovo’s senior national team — his inclusion in the squad for the match against Andorra suggests the federation is already tracking his club form. League-wide statistical coverage for the Kosovo Superliga is thin, so match-by-match numbers on goals conceded and clean sheets couldn’t be verified for this piece; that data gap also says something about how under-scouted the league still is by international networks.
Style: A classic line-of-goal keeper built around his frame — commanding in his box and on crosses, though his distribution hasn’t stood out as a defining feature of his game yet.
Fit for a Turkish club: A realistic, low-cost “bet on potential” for the backup goalkeeper slot at a TFF 1. Lig club, or a lower-table Süper Lig side. The Kosovo-to-Turkey pipeline is still active, as GegenSports covered in its piece on Ermal Krasniqi’s move to Amedspor (Turkish-language report); Gjokaj is a similarly low-risk option from the same footballing region.
2) Mihhail Kolobov — Centre-back, 21, FC Flora Tallinn
- Born: March 2, 2005 (age 21)
- Position: Centre-back
- Height: 1.88 m
- Club: FC Flora Tallinn (Estonia Meistriliiga)
- Contract: until December 31, 2027
- Market value: secondary sources (Soccerway record): roughly €182,000
Because Estonia’s league runs on a calendar-year cycle, Kolobov has been an ever-present for Flora through the 2026 season: 16 appearances, 1,440 minutes (a starter in every match), 17 goals conceded, and 6 clean sheets. For a centre-back, that points to a low rotation risk and a high level of trust from the coaching staff. He also earned his senior Estonia debut in 2026 and has played UEFA Conference League qualifiers with his club.
Style: At 1.88 m, he wins the physical battles in the air, holds a high defensive line, and stays composed when starting play from the back — his national-team debut suggests his decision-making under pressure already exceeds the level of his domestic league.
Fit for a Turkish club: A sensible, low-fee option for a lower-table Süper Lig side looking to add rotation depth to a back three or back four. He’s another example of the Baltic market continuing to produce continental-cup-tested players whose market value hasn’t caught up yet.
3) Ibrahim Coulibaly — Right-back, 20, Clermont Foot
- Born: December 7, 2005 (age 20)
- Position: Right-back (can also play left-back)
- Height: 1.73 m
- Club: Clermont Foot (France, Ligue 2)
- Contract: until June 30, 2028
- Market value: Transfermarkt record (confirmed via fotmob): roughly €1.8 million
Born in France to a Malian family, Coulibaly is a Clermont academy product. In the opening weeks of the 2026/27 season he has made 5 appearances (3 starts) for 304 minutes, with no goal or assist contribution yet — but an 80.4% pass-completion rate and a 60.9% duel-win rate give him a 6.69 average fotmob rating. As the highest market value on this list, he’s a more realistic target for a mid-table Süper Lig club with real spending power than for a TFF 1. Lig side.
Style: Two-footed, comfortable carrying the ball out from the back, but still limited in his attacking output — a modern full-back whose priority is defensive solidity first, forward runs second. Adapting to Ligue 2’s physicality at a young age is a point in his favour.
Fit for a Turkish club: Worth a look for a mid-table Süper Lig side seeking an academy-trained, long-contract French full-back for squad depth. The Alexandre Zaouai case from last week’s radar confirms Ligue 2 remains an active source league for Turkish clubs.
4) Ermal Meta — Defensive midfielder, 21, KF Tirana
- Born: June 20, 2005 (age 21)
- Position: Defensive midfielder (some sources list him as a centre-back — his club uses him in both roles)
- Club: KF Tirana (Albania Kategoria Superiore)
- Contract: not disclosed
- Market value: Transfermarkt record (confirmed via fotmob): roughly €505,000
At one of Albania’s biggest clubs, Meta made 13 league appearances in 2025/26 plus 2 Albanian Cup games — non-continental experience, but experience nonetheless. He hasn’t yet contributed a goal or assist; his value is built on balance rather than output. Caps for Albania’s U21 and U19 sides show the federation is watching him too.
Style: A screening presence in front of the back line, aggressive in duels, and versatile enough to slide into central defence when his club needs it — a hybrid midfielder/defender profile.
Fit for a Turkish club: A low-cost option for a TFF 1. Lig play-off contender or a Süper Lig side fighting relegation that needs physicality and versatility in midfield. GegenSports flagged the Albania-Kosovo pipeline’s productivity for Turkish clubs before, in its piece on Ermal Krasniqi’s move to Amedspor (Turkish-language report).
5) Aleko Basiladze — Right winger / attacking midfielder, 20, FC Slovan Liberec
- Born: December 30, 2005 (age 20)
- Position: Right winger / attacking midfielder
- Height: 1.75 m
- Foot: Left
- Club: FC Slovan Liberec (Czechia, Chance Liga) — signed from Georgia’s Torpedo Kutaisi on July 2, 2026
- Contract: five years, through 2031
- Market value: reported transfer fee (Czech press): €750,000; no separate up-to-date market-value figure could be confirmed
Basiladze is also on record in GegenSports’ own scout database (right winger, left-footed, 1.75 m — confirmed against the club’s own data). Moving directly from the Georgian league to the Czech top flight for a reported €750,000 shows Liberec see him as a genuine investment, which makes him the priciest “potential” name on this list — expect his valuation to keep climbing above the other five. In his last full season at Torpedo Kutaisi (2025) he scored 6 goals, including a hat-trick; his minutes at Liberec are still accumulating.
Style: A creative wide player who cuts in from the right, has a real instinct for goal, and uses his left foot effectively — jumping straight from the Georgian league to a Central European top division without a stopover is a positive signal for his adaptability.
Fit for a Turkish club: GegenSports’ own analysis of Saba Kharebashvili’s move to Başakşehir (Turkish-language report) shows the Georgian market remains productive for Süper Lig recruitment. Given his current fee level, Basiladze is a more realistic target for an upper-mid Süper Lig side with European ambitions than for a budget club.
6) Julius Körkkö — Striker / left winger, 20, AC Horsens
- Born: July 3, 2006 (age 20)
- Position: Striker (also plays on the left wing)
- Club: AC Horsens (Denmark Superligaen) — signed from Finland’s AC Oulu in July 2026
- Contract: until June 30, 2030
- Market value: Transfermarkt record (confirmed via fotmob): roughly €593,000
Körkkö’s production in his last full Veikkausliiga season (2025) with AC Oulu — 6 goals and 3 assists in 22 matches, on top of a career tally of 19 goals in 78 appearances for the club — earned him the move to Denmark’s top flight over the summer. He’s still early in his adaptation at the new club: 4 appearances, 0 starts, 73 minutes, no goal contribution yet. Finland’s continued player-export pipeline was also visible last week in GegenSports’ pieces on Lauri Laine and on Beşiktaş’s move for Matias Siltanen (Turkish-language report).
Style: A mobile forward who can play through the middle or off the left, with a proven scoring-and-assisting rate in Finland’s top division; short-term data is limited while his Danish adaptation is still in progress.
Fit for a Turkish club: Worth revisiting in the winter window, once his first season in Denmark has played out, for a budget-conscious Süper Lig lower-table or TFF 1. Lig club looking for proven league-level output rather than reputation.
Update from last week’s list
There’s no concrete movement this week on Alexandre “Bi” Zaouai, who we covered in last week’s radar: Turkish outlets continue to report that Konyaspor and the fee-payment structure are close to being agreed and that talks are at the “signing stage,” but neither Konyaspor nor SC Bastia has issued an official announcement. GegenSports’ scouting team will keep tracking this one through the winter window.
Overall assessment
Unlike last week’s Serbia/Montenegro-heavy list, this week’s six names spread across Kosovo, Estonia, France, Albania, the Georgia-Czechia axis, and the Finland-Denmark axis. The fee levels also split into two clear groups: Gjokaj, Kolobov, Meta and Körkkö sit in genuine “TFF 1. Lig budget” territory (roughly €200,000-€600,000), while Coulibaly — and especially Basiladze, given his recent transfer fee — are realistic targets only for better-funded Süper Lig clubs. That split is a useful filter for Turkish clubs sizing this list against their own budgets.
If you missed it, last week’s September 7-13 radar is here.
Sources and data note
Player data was compiled from club profiles, league statistics sites (fotmob, Soccerway, Footystats) and official club/press statements. Direct access to Transfermarkt and Sofascore was largely blocked again this week, so market values are labelled “Transfermarkt record (confirmed via secondary source)” where available, and “reported transfer fee in the press” or “undisclosed” where not. Altin Gjokaj’s league-level statistics and Ermal Meta’s exact position should be read with caution, since sources didn’t fully agree. This list reflects GegenSports’ scouting team’s independent assessment; it does not claim any of the named players are in official talks with a Turkish club. Last updated: September 14, 2026.
